Where did this thought come from..

I don't really know from where this thought came to my mind. Probably some of great Hollywood/English movies that I saw, inspired me to believe this. I never was too big a fan of the Extravagant hollywood, although I admired all those science fiction and Action movies a lot as a Kid. However, it were the Comedies, romantic flicks and movies on LIFE that made me fall in love with Hollywood. One of these movies being 'Anywhere but here', there is a streak of spirituality in the character played by Natalie Portman.

There are many more movies that influenced me and which inspired me but I have mentioned this one as I have been searching for it all day long, today. Here's the Plot of the movie:

"Against her will, Ann is being moved to Beverly Hills where Adele, stifled by small-town life in Bay City, Wisconsin hopes to make her colorful dreams come true. Ann is furious at having to leave the life she loves. Adele is tired of defending herself against her daughter's longings for home and family, and feels she's taking Ann away from a lifeless future and offering her a new exciting world. Materialistic East Vs Spiritual West...

Hmmmm... and you thought it was the other way round?.. All my life I believed that East was Spiritual, we Indians the most spiritual in the world, and the west being materialistic. But, that was then, and now when I have evolved and seen enough of this life, I know for sure that now Spirituality has its home in the west and ugly Materialism is floating all around in the East. The erstwhile land of spirituality is ruled by the monsters of materialism now.
